Running Your First Security Scan
Step-by-step guide to running your first comprehensive security assessment.
Overview
Security scans analyse your connected integrations to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance issues. This guide walks you through running your first scan.
Prerequisites
Before running a scan, ensure:
- At least one integration is connected and synced
- You have admin or security analyst permissions
- The initial data sync has completed (check Integration Status)
Step 1: Access the Scan Centre
- Navigate to Security → Scans from the main menu
- Click "New Scan" in the top right corner
- Select the scan type (Full Scan recommended for first time)
Step 2: Configure Scan Settings
- Select which integrations to include in the scan
- Choose scan depth (Quick, Standard, or Deep)
- Enable or disable specific check categories
- Set notification preferences for scan completion
Step 3: Run the Scan
- Review your scan configuration
- Click "Start Scan" to begin
- Monitor progress on the scan status page
- Scan duration varies based on data volume (typically 5-30 minutes)
Step 4: Review Results
Once complete, you'll see:
- Summary of findings by severity
- Detailed breakdown by category
- Comparison with previous scans (if applicable)
- Recommended remediation actions
Scheduling Regular Scans
We recommend scheduling automated scans:
- Go to Security → Scans → Scheduled
- Click "Create Schedule"
- Set frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly)
- Choose preferred time for scan execution
- Configure notification recipients
